The Authentic Movement Summit is an international gathering for those interested in Authentic Movement – both experienced movers and those new to the practice –  who would like to learn more about this creative, depth movement approach.  We hope you’ll join us for these exciting days of offerings – featuring practitioners and participants from many parts of the world!

The theme of WAEF 2023 Forum is “Stabilization, Innovation & Breakthrough – Cultivating Resilience through the Embodied Arts.”  Our panel of seasoned International Authentic Movement teachers will reflect on some of the questions we’ve been exploring as an inquiry group, including conscious embodiment, the use of language in different cultural contexts, the sacred/transpersonal dimension, and research.  We welcome your reflections and questions and hope you’ll join us for this rich community gathering and discussion!

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”    ~  C.G. Jung

DreamDancers Malone

In these challenging, polarizing times we are called to draw from creative, healing energies from deeper parts of the Self.

Dreams, imagination, and embodied knowing offer profound sources of renewal ~ personally, culturally, and from the timeless collective unconscious – resources that connect us to ourselves, to one another, and to the creative intelligence that informs all of Nature.

Transformation is an embodied, cellular process involving reclaiming rejected parts of the self necessary for wholeness. Re-integrating shadow material projected onto others is essential to the work: What could emerge if we reclaim this “other?”

Authentic Movement is a subtle yet powerful meditative and therapeutic practice rooted in the Active Imagination approach of C.G. Jung.  Bridging body, psyche, and spirit through expressive movement, the process invites a descent into the body and psyche within a safe environment.  Shadow elements held in the body often emerge spontaneously ~  energy that can have a profoundly transformative effect when experienced, differentiated, and integrated.

Exploring body-level and imaginal responses provides a bridge to the unconscious and supports the development of conscious embodiment.  Freeing life energy essential for growth, we are connected to a deeper sense of knowing, creativity, and wholeness ~ for ourselves, as healing practitioners, and as world citizens attuning to an evolving planetary call.

Through presentation, natural movement, and sharing we will rediscover the light in the darkness.  Please bring a dream figure – or your sense of a person in your life, past or present – who inspires you!
